I started with steam at the age of 11 when I joined a 7¼  gauge railway in Merstham, surrey. I soon got the bug for 16mm scale and joined there other group the east surrey. My first loco was a mamod and after 4 years hard work it died and was put in the shed while life diverted me to other things but 2 years ago I got the taste again and dug the old mamod out and gave it a full overhaul.
